About Us
The East Montgomery Islamic center (EMIS) is a significant institution serving the Muslim community in Montgomery, Alabama. Established in 2006, EMIS aims to support the spiritual, educational, and social needs of its members. The mosque is located at 8786 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36117.

EMIS offers a variety of services, including daily prayers, Islamic education, community outreach programs, and social events. The center also hosts lectures and workshops, providing a platform for community engagement and learning.
Currently, EMIS is in the process of constructing a new mosque, which will be nearly 6000 Sq.Ft Mosque and 7000 sq.ft activity center in size and is expected to be completed within the next six months to a year.
The East Montgomery Islamic center is also known for its efforts in promoting diversity, tolerance, and interfaith dialogue, aiming to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all community members.
The Mission
The mission of the East Montgomery Islamic center (EMIS) is to serve the Muslim community by providing a place of worship, promoting Islamic education, and fostering a sense of community and social responsibility. Specifically, EMIS aims to:
Provide Spiritual and Religious Services : Offer daily prayers, Jumu’ah (Friday) prayers, and religious guidance to Muslims in the Montgomery area.
Promote Islamic Education : Conduct educational programs, including Quranic studies, Arabic language classes, and lectures on various aspects of Islam, to enhance the knowledge and practice of the faith among community members.
Foster Community Engagement and Social Responsibility : Organize social events, workshops, and outreach programs to build a cohesive and supportive community. EMIS also engages in interfaith dialogue and community service initiatives to promote understanding and cooperation among people of different faiths.
Support Diversity and Tolerance : Create an environment that promotes diversity and tolerance, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all members of the community.
